Will AI put me out of a job?
"Will AI put me out of a job?"
The honest answer: probably not directly — but the people who learn to use AI well will out-compete those who don't. This is the calculator moment, the spreadsheet moment, the email moment.
What AI is genuinely good at
Drafting, summarizing, translating, brainstorming, repetitive analysis, and answering questions from a body of documents.
What AI is still bad at
Judgment under uncertainty, building trust with people, knowing what *should* be done (vs. what *can* be done), and most physical work.
What to do
Use it for one task you do every week. Not to replace yourself — to give yourself an extra hour. Then another. The people who thrive aren't the ones who fear it; they're the ones who befriend it early.
