Writing better prompts
"How do I write better prompts?"
Once the basics click, prompt quality is the single biggest lever you have.
Show, don't tell
Paste an example of what you want. "Write three product descriptions in the style of these two: [paste]." Examples beat instructions.
Give it a role
"You are an experienced editor for a literary magazine. Critique the following essay for clarity and pacing."
Ask for the thinking
"Before answering, list the three biggest considerations. Then give your recommendation."
Iterate, don't restart
If the answer is close but wrong, don't start over. Just say: *"That's close. Make it shorter and less formal."*
The 'reverse prompt' trick
Stuck on what to ask? Type: *"I want to [your goal]. Ask me the questions you need answered to help me well."* It will interview you.
